Tragedy in Manipur: Son Allegedly Shoots Father, Later Takes Own Life

A shocking incident of family tragedy unfolded in Imphal West, Manipur, on Friday. A 25-year-old son allegedly shot his 60-year-old father, a retired Manipur Police Service (MPS) officer, inside their residence. The victim, who sustained a bullet wound on his chest, was rushed to Raj Medicity hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The police, who received the information around 1:30 pm, initiated an investigation and found the son dead with a bullet wound to his head. It is believed that he took his own life using the same pistol. The motive behind the shooting is yet to be determined. A case has been registered at the Singjamei police station, and the police are working to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. The bodies of the father and son have been sent to the Regional Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) hospital morgue for post-mortem. The family has not commented on the incident, and the police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
