US State Secretary Marco Rubio has praised President Donald Trump for his foreign policy approach, claiming he deserves 'tremendous credit' for brokering several peace deals, including the India-Pakistan ceasefire. However, New Delhi has maintained that there was no third-party mediation in reaching the ceasefire understanding during the conflict in May. Rubio made the comments during a Cabinet meeting at the White House on Tuesday, where he highlighted the clarity of Trump's foreign policy approach. 'If it makes America safer, stronger, and more prosperous, he's for it. If it doesn't, he's against it,' Rubio said. The US President has repeatedly claimed to have resolved several global conflicts, including between India and Pakistan, and has even suggested he should be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for each of the 'eight wars' he has stopped. Trump credits himself with having 'resolved' conflicts between several countries, including Thailand and Cambodia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, Kosovo and Serbia, Israel and Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia, Rwanda and Congo, and Israel and Hamas. However, New Delhi has maintained that the India-Pakistan ceasefire understanding was reached after Islamabad's Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) reached out to his Indian counterpart. The ceasefire was reached on May 10 after four days of fighting. The US President is set to host Congo President Felix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo and Rwanda President Paul Kagame to sign a 'historic peace and economic agreement' brokered by the US President. While Trump's claims of brokered peace deals have been met with skepticism, Rubio's praise for Trump's foreign policy approach has sparked debate about the effectiveness of the US President's approach to international relations.
