Four teenagers lost their lives, while six others were injured in the collision, which occurred at around 3 am near Nela Talab in the Savina area. The group of friends, who had attended a 'Mehfil-e-Milad' programme, were returning from the event and had planned to stop for tea nearby. A disturbing video, shot from inside the car, shows the driver with a lit cigarette in hand and loud music playing, as he speeds along at over 120 kmph, attempts a U-turn, and crashes into another vehicle. The victims, identified as Mohammad Ayan (17), Adil Qureshi (14), Sher Mohammad (19), and Ghulam Khwaja (17), were pronounced dead at the scene. Two others in the group suffered serious injuries, and four passengers in the other vehicle, a Gujarat-registered car, were also injured. The occupants of the car pleaded for help for nearly ten minutes after the crash, but by the time assistance arrived, four of the friends had succumbed to their injuries. The bodies of the deceased have been taken to the MB Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination, and both vehicles involved in the accident have been seized by the police.
