The Uttar Pradesh State Commission for Women Chief, Babita Singh Chauhan, has declined to comment on the recent allegations leveled against her deputy, Aparna Bisht Yadav, amidst the ongoing divorce drama between her and husband Prateek Yadav. Chauhan described the situation as a 'family matter', saying that it's best to be handled within the family. Prateek Yadav, the son of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, has accused his wife Aparna of being 'selfish' and 'family-destroying'. He made these allegations on his official Instagram handle, stating that he plans to divorce her as soon as possible. Aparna, who is also a BJP leader and the vice chairperson of the state women's commission, has not publicly responded to the allegations. Chauhan was asked if Aparna had approached her regarding the issue, but she maintained that Aparna understands her family situation and is capable of taking a decision. The reason behind Prateek's outrage remains unknown, and neither the BJP nor the SP has made any official statement on the issue. Aparna and Prateek got married in 2011 and have a daughter together. Aparna, who contested the 2017 assembly elections on an SP ticket, joined the BJP in 2022 and was appointed as the vice chairperson of the state women's commission in September 2024.
