Uttar Pradesh Police Crackdown: 2 Notorious Criminals Killed in Separate Encounters

In a bid to curb organized and violent crime, Uttar Pradesh Police continued their crackdown on Saturday night, resulting in the deaths of two notorious criminals. Siraj Ahmad, a Sultanpur resident with a ₹1 lakh bounty, was killed in Saharanpur's Gangoh area after allegedly opening fire on a Special Task Force team. The police said Ahmad was wanted in a murder case and had over 30 cases registered against him across multiple districts. In a separate incident in Bulandshahr, 35-year-old Azad, carrying a ₹50,000 reward, was killed after he allegedly fired at a joint team of Kotwali Dehat and Gulawathi police. The police recovered a firearm and a motorcycle from the scene. According to police data, a total of 265 criminals have been killed in separate encounters in Uttar Pradesh since March 2017. Additional Director General Amitabh Yash vowed to continue the crackdown on organized crime.
