In a bid to combat climate change and promote environmental conservation, a group of seers and sages in Vrindavan have undertaken a massive tree planting initiative. On Tuesday, they planted 108 trees of five varieties on the banks of the Yamuna River in the Krishna Bhoomi Arcade, covering an area of 140 acres. The Minister of State for Forests, Environment, Forest Conservation and Climate Change, Dr. Arun Kumar Saxena, was present at the event and emphasized the importance of a clean environment for a better life. He urged citizens to plant at least one tree in the name of the Mother Goddess and protect it, echoing the appeal made by the Prime Minister and Chief Minister. Dr. Saxena stressed that environmental conservation is crucial for the development of human civilization, but not at the cost of the environment. He warned that if the environment continues to deteriorate, global warming will worsen, and the Earth's temperature will rise, making life difficult. The minister highlighted that planting trees is the best solution to reduce carbon dioxide from the Earth and prevent environmental degradation. He expressed his happiness at the initiative, saying that a river with trees on its banks does not dry up quickly, and trees on the banks of a river do not die easily. The project also includes planting seasonal flowers on a 40-acre area, which will be used in the worship of Banke Bihari, Thakurji, and other temples in Vrindavan. Ravindra Chamaria, Chairman and Managing Director of Infinity Group, revealed that trees will be planted on approximately 100 acres of the 140-acre land.
