A notorious Delhi gangster, Harsimran alias Badal alias Simran, has been arrested upon his arrival in New Delhi after being deported from Bangkok. The 30-year-old fugitive was deported on November 26 following a joint operation between Indian central agencies and Thai authorities. According to police, Harsimran fled India in January using a fake passport under the name Rajesh Singh. He was aided by Europe-based gangster Goldy Dhillon, who helped him travel to Dubai and attempt to enter the US and Europe. However, his plans were foiled multiple times, and he was eventually detained in Bangkok after Indian agencies passed on crucial information. Harsimran's passport was revoked by the Ministry of External Affairs, paving the way for his deportation. He has a long history of crime, with 23 cases registered against him, including extortion, murder, and arms-related offenses. He is also listed as a 'bad character' at the Shalimar Bagh police station and has been convicted in two cases. After fleeing India, Harsimran allegedly threatened a key witness in one of his cases, demanding ₹50 lakh to turn hostile. This led to a fresh FIR being registered against him at the Mukherjee Nagar police station. Police say Harsimran's arrest was facilitated by the interrogation of another accused, Mahender Singh, who revealed that the arms and ammunition seized from him were sourced from Harsimran. A Lookout Circular was issued, and central agencies worked with Delhi Police to track him down. Harsimran is currently being interrogated by police. His alleged ties with Goldy Dhillon and plans to expand his criminal network internationally are being probed further.
