The winter session of Parliament is set to begin on December 1, with 15 sittings scheduled until December 19. The session is expected to be dominated by confrontation rather than consensus, as opposition parties unite against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls. The SIR process, currently underway in 12 states, has been criticized by the Congress and other opposition parties for being "deeply flawed" and "politically motivated.
