Barcelona presidential candidate Victor Font has made a bold move ahead of the election, holding transfer talks with Manchester City over Erling Haaland. Font's team met with City CEO Ferran Sorriano and sporting director Hugo Viana in Madrid, reportedly reaching an agreement for preferential treatment in a potential transfer.
The move could be decisive in the presidential election, shifting a huge number of votes in Font's favor. Font is competing against Joan Laporta, who has also made a play for Haaland, saying he would offer Robert Lewandowski a one-year contract extension if he stays.
Laporta's entourage has revealed they are prepared to sign players like Haaland and Julian Alvarez, but must be careful about commitments to the wage structure. Font's team, on the other hand, is looking to secure a deal for Haaland, who is reportedly looking to leave Manchester City early.
