Team Canada has unveiled its Olympic wardrobe, a bold and versatile collection that features a giant maple leaf design. The eye-catching kit, designed by Lululemon, draws inspiration from Canada's natural environment and boasts a range of colours that will make the team hard to miss at the Winter Olympics in Italy. The star of the show is a maroon quilted vest with a massive red maple leaf that can be worn as a vest, scarf, or even packed up as a pillow. According to Catherine Lebrun, Lululemon's design director, the extra-large scale of the maple leaf design is meant to evoke a sense of Canadian geography. The Olympic team will also be sporting bright red jackets featuring topographic designs of Canadian features, while the closing ceremony will see them don large hooded jackets in a striking green-blue iridescent hue inspired by harsh Canadian winter conditions. The collection, which took two years to develop with input from athletes, prioritizes thermoregulation and includes adaptive designs developed with feedback from Paralympians. Lululemon has been Team Canada's official outfitter for the past two Olympics and has welcomed hockey great Sidney Crosby as a Team Canada ambassador. Crosby, who is returning to the Olympics for the first time since 2014, expressed his excitement and motivation to compete in a recorded message. The Olympics are set to take place in Italy from February 6-22.
