Carlos Alcaraz is gearing up for the ATP Finals in Turin, looking to bounce back from a disappointing loss to Cameron Norrie in the Paris Masters. The Spaniard committed 54 unforced errors in the match, raising questions about his indoor performance. Tennis legend Justine Henin believes Alcaraz still needs to overcome his indoor weakness despite his potential for success in those conditions. Henin told Eurosport France that Alcaraz will have to manage fatigue from the season, combined with the pressure of competing in the Masters. The ATP Finals have been a challenging tournament for Alcaraz, where he has struggled to live up to expectations. This year, he will be facing stiff competition, including Jannik Sinner, who is expected to arrive in top form. Alcaraz has a solid record on indoor hard courts, with a 31-14 career win-loss ratio and a 68.9 win percentage. However, this is below his overall career win percentage across all surfaces, which stands at 81.2 per cent. He has only one indoor title to his name, winning the ATP 500 title in Rotterdam this year. At the ATP Finals, Alcaraz has been drawn into the Jimmy Connors group, featuring Novak Djokovic, Taylor Fritz, and Alex de Minaur. In his two previous ATP Finals appearances, Alcaraz has a 3-4 record. He withdrew from the 2022 edition due to injury and made his debut in 2023, winning two of his three round-robin matches before losing to Djokovic in the semis. Last year, he exited at the round-robin stage. With a tough draw ahead, Alcaraz will need to overcome his indoor weakness to succeed at the ATP Finals.
