Deborah Lemieux, Claude's wife, once spoke about the softer side of the NHL star in an interview with The New York Times. She described him as a 'big old bear' who was easygoing, despite his tough image.

The couple's children have also followed in their father's footsteps, with one son, Brendan Lemieux, becoming a professional hockey player. Brendan was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in 2014 and has played for several teams, including the Winnipeg Jets and New York Rangers.

Claude Lemieux's NHL career spanned 1,215 games, during which he scored 379 goals and won four Stanley Cups. He became known for his toughness and rivalry with the Detroit Red Wings, particularly after a 1996 hit on Kris Draper.
