Kolkata: East Bengal's momentum has been lost after dropping seven points in their last three matches. They were unable to protect a one-goal lead for the second time this season, with Kerala Blasters scoring a late equalizer to earn their first point in four matches.

The 1-1 result will add to the discomfort of East Bengal head coach Oscar Bruzon, who had previously stated that some in the club are not backing the team.

East Bengal had taken the lead in the 10th minute through a penalty, but Kerala Blasters equalized in the 90+2 minute with a powerful header from Muhammad Ajsal.

The equalizer came after East Bengal had forgotten their marking duties, allowing Ajsal a free header from a corner-kick.

This result will be a setback for East Bengal, who are still third in the Indian Super League (ISL) table with eight points from five matches.
