Varun Tomar, 20, shot 221.7 to claim the bronze medal, marking a significant achievement for the young shooter from Baghpat district in Uttar Pradesh. Coached by his father since 2018, Samrat has been working towards this moment for years. He had previously won junior gold medals at the 2022 World Championships and has been a consistent performer at the senior level. Varun, who is a student of DAV College in Karnal, also showed remarkable skill, finishing second in the qualification round with an identical score to Samrat. In the women's 10m air pistol event, top Indian shooters Manu Bhaker and Esha Singh failed to win a medal, despite solid performances in the qualification round. However, India did win a team silver medal with Esha, Manu, and Suruchi Inder Singh aggregating 1740 points. The team's performance was a testament to the hard work and dedication of Indian shooters, who have been consistently improving their skills and achieving success at the international level.
