Jacksonville Jaguars' standout rookie wide receiver and cornerback Travis Hunter has undergone successful surgery to repair a torn lateral collateral ligament (LCL) in his right knee. The 22-year-old suffered the non-contact injury during a practice session on October 30, 2025. According to the team, Hunter's injury occurred during defensive drills, and he was initially described by Jaguars head coach Liam Coen as having suffered a 'minor setback for a major comeback.' However, further evaluation revealed the extent of the injury, which has now been confirmed as a season-ending blow. Hunter, who had been making a significant impact on the field, will miss the remainder of the 2025 season. Despite this setback, the young athlete is expected to make a full recovery within six months, putting him on track to return for the 2026 offseason workouts. Before his injury, Hunter had made a notable impression on the field, showcasing his versatility in both offense and defense. He recorded 28 receptions on 43 targets for 298 yards and one touchdown, as well as 14 tackles, nine receptions allowed on 15 targets (96 yards), and two pass breakups. The Jaguars' statement on the matter reads: 'Earlier today, Jaguars WR/DB Travis Hunter underwent successful surgery to repair an isolated lateral collateral ligament (LCL) injury in his right knee. Beyond the LCL, there was no additional damage to the knee, which Hunter injured during practice on Oct. 30. The procedure was performed by Dr. Dan Cooper and Jaguars team physician, Dr. Kevin Kaplan, in Dallas. Hunter, 22, will miss the remainder of the 2025 season, but is expected to return within six months to full football activities.'
