Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has been officially ruled out for Sunday's Week 12 matchup against the New England Patriots at Paycor Stadium. Despite practicing fully throughout the week, Burrow's recovery from a Grade 3 turf toe injury has not progressed enough for him to return to the field. The injury, sustained in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, required surgery and initially carried a three-month recovery timeline. Burrow, who has been sidelined since September 15, was cleared to return to practice on Monday and had hoped to make a comeback for Thanksgiving. However, the Bengals have deemed him unfit to play, and his next realistic target for a return is now Week 14 against the Buffalo Bills on December 4. In other news, the Bengals have made several roster moves ahead of Sunday's game. Tight end Mike Gesicki has been activated from the Reserve/Injured list after being placed on IR on October 15 with a pectoral injury. Defensive end Isaiah Foskey has been signed from the practice squad to the active roster, while cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt has been placed on the Reserve/Injured list after suffering a foot injury in the Bengals' Week 11 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
