Tiger Woods' potential return to competitive golf remains uncertain, but one of his close PGA Tour friends, Davis Love, is hopeful he'll see the 15-time major champion back on the course soon. Woods is scheduled to turn 50 on December 30, making him eligible to join the Champions Tour. However, he had back surgery in October and is also recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon surgery in March. He's also been participating in the indoor TGL, where he's committed to attending every match with his team. Love, who serves as host for the PGA Tour's fall finale, expressed his desire to see Woods compete on the Champions Tour, starting with the season-opening event in Hawaii from January 22-24. 'I'm hoping these guys come out and play,' Love said. 'It is a lot of fun.' Other notable golfers, including former Ryder Cup captain Zach Johnson, will also be eligible to join the Champions circuit in 2026. Love is advocating for a mandatory cart rule on the Champions Tour to make it more accessible for players with physical limitations. While Woods' return to competition is uncertain, his longtime friend Notah Begay III believes that his desire to win his 83rd PGA Tour title remains a major motivation. 'I think in his heart of hearts, 83 is a big number,' Begay said. 'It's an important number.'
