He also claims the club misclassified his contract, leading to moral harassment and a breach of their duty of good faith. In response, PSG is demanding 440 million euros, citing losses and misconduct by Mbappé during his final year in Paris. The club argues that Mbappé's refusal to join Saudi club Al Hilal, which offered a 300-million-euro transfer, led to a chain of reputational and financial damage. PSG also claims that Mbappé breached an agreement regarding salary reductions and bonuses, which he allegedly failed to honour. PSG counters that Mbappé's reintegration into the squad later that summer followed a verbal agreement that he would relinquish certain bonuses if he chose to depart as a free agent. The French players' union has previously filed a complaint citing this type of isolation across the league.
