New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson found himself at the center of a political firestorm after his reaction to President Donald Trump attending Game 3 of the NBA Finals raised questions about whether he supports the president.

Robinson's viral posts sparked questions about his potential support for Trump, including a TikTok video where he commented 'You ain't lying, brother' and a photo of himself holding an American flag, which he jokingly said was a Trump flag.

Voter registration records show Robinson is a registered Republican in Louisiana, where he grew up, but he has also downplayed his earlier posts, saying he was 'just trolling'.

Despite the online chatter, Robinson did not seem particularly excited about Trump's presence at the game, telling ESPN ahead of Game 3 that it was 'cool, I guess' that Trump was in the stands.
