NC State Bounces Back to Beat Boise State 81-70 in Maui Invitational

In a decisive victory, No. 23 N.C. State defeated Boise State 81-70 in a consolation game at the Maui Invitational. The win comes after a tough 11-point loss to Seton Hall the day before. Darrion Williams led the Wolfpack with 16 points, while Ven-Allen Lubin and Terrance Arceneaux chipped in with 11 points each. Paul McNeil Jr. added 10 points to the team's total. Boise State's Dylan Andrews had a standout performance, making five 3-pointers and scoring 26 points. However, it wasn't enough to overcome the Wolfpack's strong start. N.C. State made their first five shots from the field and opened the game with an 11-2 run. Despite a strong comeback by Boise State, led by a 16-2 run, N.C. State closed out the first half with a 12-2 run to take a 34-28 lead. The Wolfpack maintained their lead throughout the second half, with Quadir Copeland's free throws at the 14:15 mark giving them a decisive advantage. N.C. State shot 27 of 54 from the field and 18 of 23 from the free throw line, scoring 24 points off of 15 Boise State turnovers. The Wolfpack will face the winner of the Chaminade-Texas game for fifth place, while Boise State will play the loser for seventh place on Wednesday.
