In a dominating performance, Nebraska's men's basketball team secured a 72-63 win over USC Upstate on Saturday, maintaining their undefeated record. Pryce Sandfort led the charge with 20 points, while Rienk Mast contributed 15 points. The Huskers' reserves, Cale Jacobsen and Braden Frager, chipped in with 11 points each. In a contrasting second half, Nebraska took control and never trailed, with Frager's three-pointer in the final minutes giving them a 64-50 lead. The Cornhuskers had previously trailed by 12 points in the first half but staged a remarkable comeback, outscoring the Spartans 15-3 in the final 4.5 minutes to take a 32-30 halftime lead. The win comes as Nebraska faces a significant setback with the announcement that senior guard Connor Essegian will miss the remainder of the season due to a severe ankle injury sustained in Tuesday's game against Winthrop. Essegian, who averaged 10.7 points per game last season and led the team with 78 three-pointers, will be dearly missed. USC Upstate will host Coastal Carolina on Wednesday, while Nebraska prepares to face Creighton on December 7.
