Ohio State's offense was unstoppable on Saturday, as quarterback Julian Sayin threw for 303 yards and a touchdown, leading the No. 1 Buckeyes to a 34-10 victory over Purdue. The win extended their nation-leading winning streak to 13 games. Jeremiah Smith had a standout performance, catching a season-high 10 passes for 137 yards and a 35-yard touchdown that broke open the game. His 10th scoring catch of the season ties him with Santonio Holmes for sixth on the Buckeyes' all-time list. The Buckeyes' defense was also impressive, holding Purdue to just 186 yards on the day. The Boilermakers' Ryan Browne was 10 of 19 with 76 yards and an interception. Ohio State's C.J. Donaldson Jr. scored the game's first and final touchdowns, both on 1-yard plunges. The Buckeyes also got a 49-yard field goal from Jayden Fielding in the final 72 seconds of the first half, making it 24-3. The Buckeyes played without starting receiver Carnell Tate, who was held out due to injury concerns. Coach Ryan Day said that Tate felt something during pregame warmups, but is hopeful he will return next week. Ohio State will head home to face UCLA next Saturday, while Purdue will visit No. 24 Washington.
