The Indiana Pacers are ready to put their eight-game losing streak behind them when they face the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday in Indianapolis. Despite holding the worst record in the league, Pacers forward Bennedict Mathurin remains optimistic about the team's chances. Mathurin points out that there are teams that have won 10 games in a row, and he believes the Pacers can do the same. He emphasizes the importance of believing in themselves and doing what's right for the team. The Pacers' Pascal Siakam had a strong performance against the Detroit Pistons on Monday, scoring 29 points and grabbing seven rebounds. Mathurin also returned from an 11-game absence due to a sprained right toe, scoring 25 points despite a slow start. However, the Pacers struggled with turnovers, committing 21 against the Pistons, which led to 30 points for the opposing team. Coach Rick Carlisle acknowledged that the team needs to work on cleaning up unforced turnovers. The Hornets, who are on a three-game losing streak, also faced a tough loss to the Toronto Raptors on Monday. Despite a strong performance from several players, including Kon Knueppel and Miles Bridges, the Hornets were unable to close out the game. Hornets coach Charles Lee praised his team's spirit and competitiveness, saying they gave themselves a chance to win with their execution and ability to create open shots. The Pacers and Hornets will look to turn their seasons around when they face each other on Wednesday.
