Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised the Indian boxing team for their outstanding performance in the World Boxing Cup Finals 2025, where they secured a record 20 medals, including a remarkable nine gold medals. The team's achievement is a testament to the 'resolve and determination' of the boxers, who excelled in all 20 categories, including women's and men's divisions. The women's team shone brightly, with four boxers - Minakshi, Preeti, Arundhati Choudhary, and Nupur - each winning a gold medal. Nikhat Zareen, Jaismine Lamboria, and Parveen also secured gold medals, while Pooja Rani took home a silver medal and Neeraj Phogat and Saweety Boora won bronze medals. The men's team also put up an impressive show, with Sachin Siwach and Hitesh Gulia emerging as champions in their respective weight categories. Jadumani Singh, Pawan Bartwal, Abhinash Jamwal, Ankush Panghal, and Narendra Berwal won silver medals, while Jugnoo and Naveen secured bronze medals.
