Baltimore, MD - A sluggish start didn't deter the Baltimore Ravens, who overcame their slow first half to secure a 23-10 victory over the New York Jets on Sunday. The win marked their fifth consecutive victory, improving their record to 6-5 after a 1-5 start. The Ravens' Lamar Jackson, who has been dealing with knee and ankle issues, completed 13 of 23 passes for 153 yards and struggled to move as freely as usual. Running back Derrick Henry, however, was a force to be reckoned with, rushing for two third-quarter touchdowns and 64 yards on 21 carries. The Jets took a 7-3 lead into halftime, their first lead after two quarters since the season opener. However, the tide turned in the third quarter when Henry's 2-yard scoring run put the Ravens ahead for good. The Jets' Tyrod Taylor, starting in place of benched quarterback Justin Fields, threw an incomplete pass on fourth-and-2 from the 42-yard line, and the Ravens capitalized on the turnover. The loss marked the Jets' 10th consecutive losing season. Taylor, making his 17th start in the last eight seasons, threw for 222 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown pass to John Metchie III, but was also intercepted late in the game. Henry's performance on Sunday allowed him to move ahead of three Hall of Famers on the career rushing list, including Marcus Allen, Edgerrin James, and Marshall Faulk. He now sits 12th all-time with 12,294 yards, just 18 yards shy of Jim Brown's 12,312 yards. The Ravens will host the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night, while the Jets will face the Atlanta Falcons next Sunday.
