Aryna Sabalenka's French Open dreams were shattered on a windy day at Court Philippe Chartrier, as she succumbed to a devastating loss to Russian Diana Shnaider.

The world number one was knocked out after losing 10 consecutive games, a collapse that left her visibly disappointed and frustrated.

Reflecting on her 3-6, 7-5, 6-0 loss, Sabalenka admitted that she felt like quitting tennis right now, but vowed to bounce back in three days.

The French Open remains elusive for Sabalenka, who fell in the final to Coco Gauff last year, and had a chance to go one better with her primary rivals already eliminated from the tournament.

Sabalenka attributed her collapse to a 'deep, dark hole' that she couldn't recover from, and admitted that she had never lost 10 games in a row before.
