Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry will be out of action for at least a week due to a right quadriceps contusion and strained muscle. The injury occurred during the team's 104-100 loss to the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night. Curry, who had an MRI exam after the game, will be reevaluated in a week, likely missing at least three games. Curry and Amen Thompson of the Rockets collided under the basket with 3:24 remaining in the game, leading to a painful injury. The Warriors' medical staff will follow their standard progression of building up Curry's practice time before allowing him to return to game action. Teammate Jimmy Butler expressed concern for Curry's well-being and emphasized the importance of the team coming together to support him. 'Nobody wants to get hurt, especially that one,' Butler said. 'We go as far as he goes, but we want him to be right so we have the best opportunity to be great.' The Warriors will face a tough test without Curry, who finished with 14 points on 4-for-13 shooting. Coach Steve Kerr acknowledged that Curry's absence will significantly impact the team's rotations and strategy. 'It changes everything, our rotations, how we're playing, who we're playing through,' Kerr said. The Warriors' depth will also be put to the test with guard Gary Payton II already sidelined with a sprained left ankle. Butler emphasized the need for the team to focus on defense, particularly in Curry's absence. 'I'm going to play the exact same way, but we've just got to guard,' Butler said.
