Tennis icon Roger Federer has become the latest inductee to the International Tennis Hall of Fame, securing a spot in the Class of 2026 in his first year of eligibility. The induction ceremony is set to take place in August 2026 in Newport, Rhode Island. Federer received the news from fellow Hall of Famers at the Swiss Tennis Association, where his tennis journey began. According to the ITHF, Federer was the sole player to earn enough votes in the player category, securing 75% of the votes from a group consisting of tennis media, historians, industry leaders, Hall of Fame members, and fans. The 44-year-old Federer, who clinched 103 tour-level titles during his illustrious career and retired in 2022, expressed his gratitude in a statement, saying: "It's a tremendous honour to be inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame... to be recognised in this way by the sport and by my peers is deeply humbling.
