In a dominant display, Thailand's Jeeno Thitikul secured her third LPGA Tour win of the year, pocketing a record-breaking $4 million prize at the CME Group Tour Championship in NLES, Florida. The victory capped off an incredible year for Thitikul, who has now achieved the lowest scoring average in LPGA history. Thitikul, ranked number one in the women's world ranking, started the tournament with a six-shot lead over Nelly Korda. Although Pajaree Anannarukarn briefly threatened to disrupt Thitikul's momentum with five birdies in seven holes, the Thai golfer responded with crucial birdies on the 10th and 13th holes to maintain her lead. Thitikul's impressive performance earned her a four-shot victory, finishing at 26-under 262. The win also secured her LPGA player of the year award and the Vare Trophy for the lowest scoring average, two of the most prestigious honors in women's golf. The victory marked a bittersweet moment for Nelly Korda, who became the first player since Tiger Woods in 2010 to go from a seven-win season to not winning the following year. Thitikul, on the other hand, joined Jin Young Ko as the only back-to-back winners of the CME Group Tour Championship, cementing her legacy as one of the sport's top performers.
