In a heart-stopping finish, Oklahoma pulled off a 75-74 win over Marquette in the Bad Boy Mowers Series on Friday. Nijel Pack led the charge with 24 points, including five crucial three-pointers. Tae Davis put up a stellar performance with 19 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists, earning a double-double. The Sooners staged a remarkable comeback, overcoming an 18-point deficit with less than five minutes to go in the first half. They trailed 37-33 at the break but managed to take the lead with 7:25 remaining in the game. A three-point play and three-pointer by Pack, followed by a Jadon Jones three-pointer, gave Oklahoma its largest lead at 72-64 with 2.5 minutes left. However, Chase Ross and Royce Parham led the Golden Eagles' comeback, tying the game at 72 with 58 seconds to go. Derrion Reid's three-pointer with 35.5 seconds to go broke the tie, but Nigel James Jr. responded with two free throws. Oklahoma secured the win after Marquette failed to capitalize on a trap and foul attempt. The Sooners will face Wake Forest on Tuesday in the ACC/SEC Challenge, while Marquette will host Valparaiso on the same day.
