Top-ranked UConn women's basketball team made a statement, cruising past Utah 93-41 in the Hall of Fame Women's Showcase. The Huskies, led by Azzi Fudd's 24 points and a career-high eight rebounds, remain the only undefeated team in the tournament. Fudd's impressive performance was complemented by Blanca Quinonez's 21 points off the bench and Sarah Strong's 15 points, four rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two blocked shots in 20 minutes. Allie Ziebell added a season-high 10 points for the Huskies. Utah, ranked in the top 25 for 3-pointers per game, struggled to find their rhythm, failing to make their first shot inside the 3-point line until Brooke Walker's jump with 7:36 left in the first quarter. UConn's pressure defense was too much for the Utes, resulting in three turnovers in the first 3:40 and seven steals in the first half. The Huskies' 14-0 run, led by Fudd, Strong, and Quinonez, pushed the lead to 19 points. Even with a slow second quarter, UConn maintained a 44-19 halftime lead. Lani White scored nine points for Utah, while Brooke Walker finished with eight. UConn will face Xavier on Sunday, while Utah hosts Weber State on Wednesday. The Huskies continue to impress, solidifying their position as one of the top teams in women's college basketball.
