Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy is still in the concussion protocol, despite limited participation in practice on Wednesday. Coach Kevin O'Connell revealed that McCarthy has been cleared for individual drills but not full-team work, leaving his status for Sunday's game against Seattle uncertain. The Vikings are preparing for potentially their first career start with rookie quarterback Max Brosmer, who has been running the first-team offense. However, the team will not comment on Brosmer's chances until the practice on Friday. McCarthy reported symptoms after the team's loss to the Green Bay Packers last weekend. O'Connell emphasized that the team will prioritize McCarthy's health, saying, 'We're talking about his head.' The coach added that they will assess McCarthy's progress before making a decision about his availability for the game. The Vikings may also be without their entire starting offensive line, as left tackle Christian Darrisaw and left guard Donovan Jackson departed the game with injuries. While both players have a chance to play on Sunday, Jackson's status is uncertain due to soreness. Brosmer, who impressed the Vikings during spring and summer practices, has been given an opportunity to start in place of McCarthy. Tight end T.J. Hockenson expressed confidence in Brosmer's abilities, saying, 'We have nothing but confidence in him and what he can do as a player.'
