Wyndham Clark, the 2023 US Open winner, has arrived at Shinnecock seeking redemption after a tumultuous experience at last year's US Open at Oakmont.

Clark smashed his locker in frustration after missing the cut, prompting the club's board of directors to ban him from the 2033 US Open host course until he met certain guidelines.

He has since apologized for his actions, agreed to pay for repairs, and enrolled in anger management classes or counseling.

Clark, ranked 34th, has spoken about the incident several times and has come a long way, winning the PGA Tour's CJ Byron Nelson title three weeks ago for his fourth career tour triumph.

He is now prepared for the challenges of Shinnecock, which will feature brisk winds, dense rough, and lightning-fast greens.

Clark said he is excited to be playing some good golf and is prepared to handle the punches that Shinnecock will give him.
