The Bangladesh interim government has strongly condemned the brutal lynching of Dipu Chandra Das, a factory worker in Mymensingh, over alleged blasphemy. The government has expressed deep sorrow and extended its condolences to Das's family, who have been offered financial and welfare assistance. On Tuesday, Education Adviser Professor C R Abrar visited the victim's family to offer sympathy and support. The government has described the killing as a 'heinous criminal act' with no justification and stressed that such violence has no place in Bangladeshi society. Twelve individuals have been arrested in connection with the crime, and investigations are ongoing. The Interim Government has vowed to pursue the case fully and without exception, warning that such acts will be met with the full force of the law. US lawmakers, including Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi, have also condemned the lynching, citing concerns over rising instability, targeted violence against religious minorities, and the failure to uphold the rule of law. They have called on Bangladeshi authorities to ensure accountability and protect religious minorities. The government has assured the family of Das that relevant authorities will remain in close contact with them during the coming period. Das's body was set on fire after he was lynched on December 19, sparking widespread condemnation and outrage.
