A massive search operation is underway in Caesars Head State Park, South Carolina, after a 911 call from a 9-year-old boy on Monday evening revealed that he and three family members, including his grandmother, had become lost while hiking. The missing individuals, identified as Tonda Michelin, 53, Melody Bangs, 14, Michael Lawton, 11, and Dale Moser, 9, were last seen at the Raven Cliff Falls trailhead. A search party of over 50 people, including the National Guard, has been combing the rugged terrain using drones, helicopters, and dogs. Authorities believe the family may have been hiking on one of the park's advanced trails, which are known for their challenging terrain and scenic views. The search efforts are ongoing, with officials working to locate the family as quickly and safely as possible. Caesars Head State Park, a protected environment for rare animals and plants, is a 30-mile drive northwest of Greenville, South Carolina.
