Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has sparked a heated debate about Canada's healthcare system after a 44-year-old Indian-origin man died due to alleged medical negligence while waiting for treatment for over eight hours. Prashant Sreekumar, a father of three, passed away at Grey Nuns Community Hospital in Edmonton despite complaining of severe chest pain.
According to reports, Sreekumar had to wait for hours to see a doctor in the emergency room, with his wife being told she was being rude after his death. Musk, known for his outspoken views, compared the government-run healthcare system to the US Department of Motor Vehicles, which is infamous for inefficiency.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has condemned the incident, calling it 'unfortunate.' MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that the Canadian government should take responsibility for the matter, as Sreekumar was a Canadian national of Indian origin. The MEA has extended its condolences to the family and is cooperating with local authorities to understand the circumstances surrounding Sreekumar's death.
