A 24-year-old man, Daricka M Moore, has been charged with the murder of six people, including a 7-year-old child, in a shocking shooting spree in northeast Mississippi. According to Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott, the victims were shot at different locations late Friday. Four of the victims were family members of Moore, while two others were unrelated adults. The youngest victim, a 7-year-old cousin of Moore, was found dead in a rural home in Cedarbluff, a community west of West Point. Sheriff Scott described the crimes as 'chilling' and 'inexplicable', saying, 'I don't know what kind of motive you could have to kill a 7-year-old.' He added that Moore had placed a gun to the head of a younger child at the home where the 7-year-old died, although it's unclear if the gun misfired. A third child and their mother were also present at the time. Moore, who has no prior criminal record, has been charged with first-degree murder, and Scott hinted that the charge may be upgraded to capital murder. The sheriff also stated that Moore may face additional murder charges as the investigation continues. No bond amount has been set. Thankfully, no one else was injured in the tragic incident.
