PIRI, Nigeria - Over 250 children remain in captivity after a brazen attack on a Catholic school in north-central Niger, leaving hundreds of parents in anguish. The assault, which occurred on November 21, saw gunmen storm the school in the early hours and make off with more than 300 students and staff. While 50 children managed to escape, the fate of the remaining students is unknown. Their parents, gathered at the school site, are desperate for news of their release. "It's heartbreaking to think of children being taken from their beds," said Abuchi Nwolisa, a parent at the school. "We're waiting with bated breath for any news of their rescue.
