Peshawar Terror Attack: Gunmen and Suicide Bombers Strike Paramilitary HQ, Leaving Multiple Dead

A coordinated attack on Pakistan's paramilitary force headquarters in Peshawar has left a trail of destruction and death. According to reports, at least three people were killed, including Federal Constabulary (FC) personnel, when gunmen stormed the facility on Monday morning. Four others were wounded in the attack. The assault began with two suicide bombings, one at the main gate and another near a motorcycle stand inside the premises. The blasts triggered panic in the surrounding residential and commercial areas, with the explosion heard from a considerable distance. Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed confirmed the reports, stating that the explosions took place inside the FC headquarters. The road outside the facility has been closed, and the area has been cordoned off. Peshawar police chief Mian Saeed said that the three deceased were FC personnel deployed at the gate. Security forces shot dead two of the attackers, while one detonated explosives. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi condemned the terrorist attack, stating that the provincial government stands firmly with the police and all law enforcement agencies. The incident serves as a grim reminder of the ongoing security challenges in the region.
