Slender Man Stabbing Convict Morgan Geyser Goes Missing, Madison Police Launch Hunt

A high-profile convict has vanished in Wisconsin, sparking a search operation by local authorities. Morgan Geyser, 23, was last seen on Saturday evening in Sun Prairie, a Madison suburb, after removing her monitoring bracelet and escaping from a group home. The group home is where Geyser was being treated for a psychotic spectrum disorder as part of her conditional release. Geyser and her co-defendant Anissa Weier were convicted of attempting to murder their friend Payton Leutner in 2014, claiming the stabbing was carried out to satisfy the demands of the fictional character Slender Man. At 12 years old, they lured Leutner into a wooded area in Waukesha, near Milwaukee, and stabbed her 19 times. In 2017, both girls were found not guilty by reason of mental defect, and were sentenced to mental confinement. While Weier was granted conditional release in 2021, Geyser received a 40-year sentence. The Madison Police Department has issued a recent photograph of Geyser, taken from security footage, and is urging anyone with information to contact 911.
