Tennessee voters are heading to the polls on Tuesday, December 2, to decide the fate of the 7th Congressional District seat left vacant by Republican Mark Green's resignation. The special election is expected to be a closely contested battle between Republican nominee Matt Vap Epps and Democratic nominee Aftyn Behn. In the 7th district, around 466,000 registered voters will cast their ballots at hundreds of polling booths across the area, which includes major cities like Clarksville, Franklin, and parts of Nashville. Voters have until 7 p.m. CT (8 p.m. ET) to cast their votes, and those in line by the closing time will still be allowed to vote. For those unable to make it to the polls, mail-in ballots are an option. However, it's essential to note that these ballots must be received by Election Day to be counted. To find the nearest polling booth or to track mail-in ballot status, voters can visit the GoVoteTN website. A recent poll conducted by Emerson College suggests a tight race, with Matt Vap Epps leading by 2 percentage points over Aftyn Behn. While 48% of voters polled support Epps, 46% back Behn, leaving 5% undecided. The outcome of the election could have significant implications for the Democratic Party's midterm push, making every vote count in this closely watched special election.
