US President Donald Trump has signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act into law, compelling the Department of Justice (DOJ) to release all information related to the probe into Jeffrey Epstein's sex trafficking case. The bill, signed on Truth Social, requires the DOJ to release the documents within 30 days, with a deadline of December 20, 2025. According to the law, the DOJ must release all files and communications related to the case, except for information that may compromise ongoing investigations into Epstein's victims. This move is a significant step towards transparency, as the DOJ had previously withheld information citing 'embarrassment, reputational harm, or political sensitivity.' Attorney General Pam Bondi has stated that the DOJ will continue to follow the law and promote maximum transparency. 'We have released over 33,000 Epstein documents to the Hill, and we'll continue to follow the law and to have maximum transparency,' she said, adding that the DOJ will always encourage victims to come forward. The signing of the Epstein Files Transparency Act marks a significant development in the case, with many expecting the release of previously withheld information. As the deadline approaches, the public will be eagerly awaiting the release of the documents, which are expected to shed more light on the sex trafficking probe and Epstein's death in federal prison.
