A chilling motive has emerged in the West Point, Mississippi, mass shooting that left six people dead, including a 7-year-old child. Daricka Moore, 24, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder, which could be upgraded to capital murder. According to authorities, Moore intentionally targeted family members, including his second cousin, who was among the victims. In a disturbing revelation, investigators believe Moore placed a gun to the head of a younger child at the scene of the 7-year-old's death, sparking doubts about whether the gun misfired. A third child and their mother were present at the house. Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott expressed his dismay, saying, 'I don't know what kind of motive you could have to kill a 7-year-old.' The sheriff revealed that Moore had no previous criminal charges, making the attack even more shocking. Moore's mugshot has been released, and an initial appearance is scheduled for Monday. Authorities are still investigating and hope to gather more evidence and upgraded charges. The police have confirmed that Moore was the sole shooter, with no other injuries reported beyond the six fatalities.
