A shocking revelation has emerged in the case of the DC shooter, Rahmanullah Lakanwal. According to a former official from the CIA-backed 'Zero Unit,' Lakanwal's brother held a key position within the same elite group. The brother, who operated in Kandahar, initially served as a security guard in 2012 but later rose to the rank of team leader and GPS specialist. The ex-official confirmed that Lakanwal's brother was a platoon leader, as reported by The Associated Press. Meanwhile, sources close to the investigation revealed that Lakanwal has a brother living in the United States, who has not been named or accused of any wrongdoing. Lakanwal himself immigrated to the US in 2021 with his family and later opened fire on two National Guard members, killing 20-year-old Army Specialist Sarah Beckstrom and critically injuring 24-year-old Air Force Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe. Lakanwal is now facing charges of first-degree murder and other federal offenses. The Zero Unit, which received CIA support, was involved in covert operations in Afghanistan. However, the group faced criticism for alleged human rights abuses and was dubbed 'Death Squads' by activists. The units played a crucial role in the US withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021, securing Kabul International Airport.
