New Delhi, 30 years ago, Ahmed Khan made his mark as a choreographer in the iconic film 'Rangeela' alongside the late Saroj Khan. The movie, directed by Ram Gopal Varma and starring Urmila Matondkar and Aamir Khan, still holds a special place in Ahmed's heart. On its 30th anniversary, the film was re-released in theaters, and Ahmed reflected on the experience. The film, which featured hits like 'Rangeela Re' and 'Pyaar Yeh Jaane Kaise', was a career-defining moment for Ahmed. 'It was my first film, and every moment is still vivid in my memory,' he said in an interview. 'We didn't know we were creating magic, but we knew we were taking a risk. Ram Gopal Varma's vision and guidance helped us bring it to life.' After 'Rangeela', Ahmed went on to choreograph for films like 'Mudhalvan' and 'Nayak: The Real Hero' before making his directorial debut with 'Lakeer' in 2004. Although the film didn't do well at the box office, Ahmed continued to work in the industry, directing films like 'Fool & Final' and the 'Baaghi' sequel. Ahmed, who began his career as a child actor in 'Mr India', always wanted to become a director. 'When I was 10-11, I knew I wanted to be a filmmaker,' he said. 'I've been fortunate to have had the opportunity to direct, write, and produce films. It's a dream come true.' When asked about re-releasing one of his films, Ahmed mentioned that his 2020 film 'Baaghi 3' didn't get the recognition it deserved due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He is currently working on 'Welcome to the Jungle', the third installment in the 'Welcome' franchise, which features an ensemble cast. The film, set to release soon, promises to be a fun ride. 'It's a jungle of talent,' Ahmed said, 'with Akshay Kumar, Suniel, Arshad Warsi, and Jacqueline Fernandez among others. I'm confident that it will appeal to the audience.'
