Noted filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has issued a public apology to Sushma Anand Akoju, a child star from his 1989 debut film Shiva. In the iconic movie, Sushma played the role of Nagarjuna's young niece in a thrilling cycle chase sequence. Recently, RGV shared a photo of Sushma from the film on social media, revealing that she is now a researcher in AI and Cognitive Science in the USA. Sushma expressed her gratitude for being a part of the Shiva legacy, calling it an unforgettable experience that influenced her later intellectual pursuits. However, RGV took to social media to apologize for putting Sushma through a 'traumatic experience' during the filming of the stunt sequence. He acknowledged that his 'director's greed' led him to subject a young girl to risky shots without realizing the potential harm. Sushma, seemingly accepting RGV's apology, replied that she cherished the experience and felt safe and excited to be part of something magical. The remastered version of Shiva is set to be re-released in theaters on November 14, marking a significant milestone for the film's legacy.
