As India celebrates Children's Day 2025, actor and environmentalist Dia Mirza Rekhi reminisces about her childhood, sharing a poignant photo taken by her late father, Frank Handrich. A German graphic designer, architect, artist, and interior designer, he captured the essence of her early years through his camera lens. The cherished picture, which features a hand-painted blanket, is one of the few physical memories Dia has of her father. Dia's father was instrumental in documenting her childhood, preserving moments of innocence and simplicity. His artistic touch is evident in the hand-stitched dresses and embroidery that remind her of a bygone era. Born to an Indian mother, Deepa, who excelled in interior and landscape design, Dia's upbringing was a blend of cultures. After making her acting debut in 2001 with the film Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, opposite R Madhavan, Dia went on to appear in a string of successful films, including Dum, Deewaanapan, Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge, Tumsa Nahi Dekha, Dus, and Lage Raho Munna Bhai.
