Tollywood Star Nagarjuna Speaks Out Against Cybercrime Actor Nagarjuna has joined the chorus of celebrities condemning film piracy after the shutdown of iBomma, a notorious pirate website. In a press conference, he shared a personal experience with a 'digital arrest' scam that targeted a family member six months ago. The scam involved fraudsters impersonating law enforcement officials, intimidating victims through audio or video calls, and extorting money. Nagarjuna revealed that his family member was held in a digital 'arrest' for two days before seeking police help. The police were eventually able to track down the scammers, who rapidly disconnected the call and went into hiding. Nagarjuna commended the Hyderabad police for their efforts in shutting down iBomma and arresting its administrators. He warned film enthusiasts against the dangers of piracy, stating that free online movies often come with a hidden cost – the collection of personal data. 'It's a trap,' Nagarjuna said. 'They have no interest in showing you free movies. Their goal is to exploit people and collect personal data.' Nagarjuna was joined by other Tollywood stars, including Chiranjeevi, SS Rajamouli, and Dil Raju, in thanking the Hyderabad police for their efforts. The group met with police commissioner VC Sajjanar on Monday to express their appreciation for the crackdown on piracy.
