Actor Agastya Nanda has been extensively researching war dramas, including his grandfather Amitabh Bachchan's 1998 film Major Saab, to prepare for his role in the upcoming movie Ikkis. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Ikkis tells the story of Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest military honour. In an interview, Agastya revealed that he watched several classic Indian war films, including Refugee and Border, to gain insight into the genre. However, he emphasized that Ikkis is a distinct and separate story that requires a different approach. The 25-year-old actor also spoke about a family rule in the Bachchan household, where they refrain from discussing their film projects at home. Agastya expressed his gratitude towards producer Dinesh Vijan and director Sriram Raghavan for giving him the opportunity to play a soldier in Ikkis, which he believes is a crucial moment in his career. Agastya credits Sriram Raghavan for teaching him to approach film-making with authenticity and purity of intention. He described his experience working on Ikkis as a "foundation" for his future projects, where he has grown significantly as an actor since starting the film at the age of 21. The actor also shared about the challenges he faced during the shooting, particularly with filming action sequences involving tank stunts. He praised late actor Dharmendra, who he had limited screen time with, describing him as "warm and energetic". Ikkis, produced under Maddock Films, is set to release on January 1, 2026. Agastya expressed his eagerness to share the film with the world, stating that it is a "really long and fun journey" that has been made with a lot of love and care.
