Music composer Amaal Mallik has spoken candidly about the challenges he faced in the industry due to his family background. In a recent interview, he shared how he was often let go from jobs after people discovered his surname. Amaal, who made his debut with Salman Khan's Jai Ho, revealed that he struggled for 10 years to establish himself despite having a family history in music. He was forced to take on menial tasks, such as working as an assistant or runner, and even carrying hard disks for post-production work, just to make ends meet. The 30-year-old composer recalled how people would dismiss him for his family name, fearing he might compromise the quality of music. "As soon as they found out my surname was Mallik, they would remove me from the job," he said. "They thought I might sell out their music or compromise its quality.
